The decoupling of America and China could have some very serious consequences if not handled properly.
First is economic supremacy, China is trying to become the largest economy. While America holds on to the title of largest economy. It is a priority for both countries to complete their respective objectives. Investment in China has dropped. Meanwhile the United States has managed to increase the GDP gap by 5 trillion dollars.
Second is global influence China wants to start a new world order. Mean while America is trying to isolate China. This will not be easy but some powerful countries don’t like China. India is a great ally in the region.
The president of China was in Europe over the last few days. He was trying to drive a wedge between the United States and Europe.
Military is one aspect that is complicated because China says things that likely are not true when it comes to military prowess. They build a lot of weapons and equipment. The uncertainty is whether they are actually good.
America is positioning to combat any attack on Taiwan. This involves many different agreements with countries in Asia. Such as building bases near China.
Third China has a population problem the country is aging and losing population. They lost about one million people last year this puts a strain on there pension system. Along with the economy in the long term.
What happens depends on many different variables such as elections and economic conditions over the rest of the year.
